Opportunities in Mission
Our ministry compels us to act--to make disciples of Jesus--to reconcile the world to the love of God witness through Jesus Christ.

We are engaged in vital community ministries to connect with the poor and improve lives. We are working to make a difference in our lives and in the lives of others changing economic situations in Honduras that keep people from getting work and children from attending school. Working to change the economic systems, lives will be changed in rural Honduras through Leadership University (www.theLeadershipUniversityOfHonduras.com) and our direct person-to-person program.

Locally, we support college ministry, and work with other faith communities in our region to provide emergency help for the poor and displaced and we guide immigrants through the legal processes towards citizenship.

Education and Economic Development

We are working with Art for Humanity to establish the Leadership University of Honduras, Salta, Honduras.  Opportunities range from a week to months, as a teacher of business, English, agri-business, ethics, or leadership.  You will present a seminar in English and convey business skills to the next generation of leaders in Honduras business, industry, and government.

Recycle Used Household Items, Clothing, and Tools

We collect materials we can use in Honduras to help change the plight of the very poor.  Help collect, sort, and pack clothing, shoes, linens, kitchen items, sewing equipment, and tools.  Organize all the material for a small business for shipment, such as woodworker, tailor, cobbler, plumber, or bicycle mechanic.

Support Emergency Aid for the Displaced

We support Crosslines, a community ministry of Joplin area churches, including clothing, food, and other emergency assistance.  Pick a time to help staff the center each week and coordinate with other churches for financial support and participation in food drives.

Teach Children About Jesus

Our Sunday School has been completely redesigned into learning workshops, where kids learn about faith through music, drama, art, and technology. Our modern "Power Station" uses computers to teach children. In the “Port of Galilee" drama center, children act out the stories in the Bible, and enjoy seeing themselves on video. Our authentic Route 66 Diner, Martha’s Table, supports youth discussions, study, and fun activities. The Children’s Chapel is also our music center, as children enjoy learning about Jesus through song and worship.

Adult Ministry

Our Women’s Ministry includes an annual Women’s Conference, drawing on the talents of exceptional women to help one another live out the faith in today’s world. Our Men’s ministry includes a weekly breakfast devotion and monthly gatherings. The men hold a chicken barbeque twice a year, feeding over 600 people, and raising funds for missions.

Service on the Worship Servant Team

The Worship Servant Team supports the pastor in the preparation and administration of the sacraments of baptism and Holy Communion.

Your Ministry

We believe God sends people with a calling--and our work is to help them realize that calling within our community.  Come and discover what God has in mind!
