Assistance
We have at least 250 low-income people displaced from the destroyed apartments who are needing assistance. While local agencies and FEMA are certainly responding to the most pressing needs, the affected residents need long term housing. As Hampshire Terrace paid all utility bills, most all of our residents do not have a credit history with electric, gas, or water companies. As a result, many will be faced with not only paying higher rents, but also having to make utility deposits and buy basic furnishings. Many are also out of work until the business they worked for is back in operation.
We are soliciting funds to help these residents. All funds donated to ROYAL HEIGHTS UMC-HAMPSHIRE TERRACE will go to the residents.
